In-Town Transportation:
The Town of Breckenridge offers free public transportation on a year-round basis via their Free Ride shuttle program. Additionally, during the winter months the Breckenridge Ski Area also runs their own bus service which connects the free skier parking lots and several in-town stops up with the bases of Peak 8 and Peak 9.
All town of Breckenridge Free Ride buses are handicapped lift equipped for our visitors with disabilities. See our ADA information page for more information.
In addition, Breckenridge Free Ride offers a free Main Street trolley that operates downtown Breck and runs every 30 minutes. Click on the links below for more information about Breck Free Ride schedules and maps.

Breck Connect Gondola:
Another mode of transportation is to take a ride on the free BreckConnect Gondola to get from downtown Breck to the base of Peak 8 on the Breck Ski Resort Mountain.
Day Parking:
The Town of Breckenridge has pay parking systems on Main Street, Ridge Street and Downtown Lots. For more information, including locations, how it works, hours and rates, please review this Breckenridge Pay Parking information sheet.
The Town of Breckenridge does not allow parking on residential or commercial streets, thoroughfares, alleys or easements within the Town unless specifically posted. Residents and guests may apply for a temporary on-street parking permit for dinner parties or other social events. PLEASE NOTE: Parking is prohibited in all Town of Breckenridge operated parking lots between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. during the months of November through April each year. Parking restrictions are strictly enforced. Other restrictions may apply. Always check signs before parking.
Overnight Parking:
The town recommends that guest and residents use the Satellite Parking Lot as their overnight parking location. Please see the map & directions to the Satellite Lot below. The cost is $5/night and the payment machine will be on the right side of the driveway (credit cards only). Once you have completed the payment, follow the signs to the designed overnight location.
Two bus routes provide transportation back from the Satellite lot:
- Red Route - Bus stops at the Satellite lot every twenty minutes from 8am to 5pm.
- Yellow Route - Bus stops in front of Airport Auto on Airport Road every twenty minutes at :09, :29, :49 from 6:49am until 10:40pm.
Rules for using Satellite lot:
- Maximum overnight stay is 14 nights.
- No camping or sleeping in vehicles
- Do not leave pets unattended in vehicles.
Directions to Satellite lot:
From North of Breckenridge (traveling south on Highway 9:
- From the stop light at Tiger Road continue south on Highway 9 for about 1 mile.
- Turn right on Coyne Valley (stop light)
- Continue about .3 miles to Airport Road (stop sign) and turn left
- Continue on Airport Road for about .7 miles
- Turn left into the Satellite lot/free skier parking (just before Airport Auto Repair)
- The pay kiosk will be on your right as you enter the lot
From Main Street (1.9 miles):
- Go north on Main Street toward Frisco
- Go straight through the roundabout onto Highway 9.
- Continue about a .5 miles and turn left on Valley Brook Street (stop light).
- Continue about .2 miles to Airport Road (stop sign) and turn right.
- Continue about .6 miles and turn right into the Satellite lot/free skier parking (just beyond Airport Auto Repair)
- The pay kiosk will be on your right as you enter the lot
Passenger Vehicles Only:
The Ice Rink is available for overnight parking for passenger vehicles only. Permits for parking in the Ice Rink can be obtained at the kiosk in the ice rink lot. Parking is $15.00 per night for passenger vehicles.
Please Note: Oversized Vehicles such as RVs and trailers are not permitted to park at the Ice Rink Lot.
The Ice Rink Lot is located on Boreas Pass Road, one block off Highway 9/Main Street. Maps to the Stephen C. West Ice Arena are available at the Breckenridge Police Department. The lot is patrolled by the Breckenridge Police Department. The Free Ride bus stop is on the north side of the Ice Rink Lot on Boreas Pass Road. The Blue Route returns north into town.
