Think Breck this spring break, and plan a vacation when the temps warm up! Breckenridge enjoys a long ski season and offers a great spring experience for skiers and snowboarders. You'll like the sunny, light vibe that spring brings to this beautiful mountain town.
Why Spring?
There are some distinct advantages to steering your mountain trip toward springtime. Longer, sunnier days mean a more laid-back experience. You'll still see snow (plenty of it), with comfortable temperatures. Spring stays are a great way to stay active during Spring Break and enjoy time outdoors.
Holiday breaks give couples and families time to get together and get away from the daily routine. Why not make this year THE year you plan a mountain vacation full of memories?
What To Expect
March and April are a great time for intermediate, advanced, and expert skiers and snowboarders to enjoy the high alpine terrain on Peaks 6, 7, and 8. Be advised that beginner terrain won't be available once the shift to late spring operations occurs (keep an eye out, as details about the transition are released). Thankfully, Breckenridge still gets fresh powder days throughout springtime, and there are many open areas to explore right up until the closing day. Conditions will vary throughout each day, and you can time your runs based on your preference!
Breckenridge's scenic lifts will be running to get you where you want to go—like the Rocky Mountain SuperChair and the Independence SuperChair. You'll have access to hundreds of acres of groomers and high alpine bowls that hold powder, as long as weather permits.
What To Pack
Depending on the forecast and timing of your trip, lighter base and mid-layers are usually sufficient (and honestly, one reason why some prefer spring on the mountain!). You'll want light but cozy options for Après ski lounging. Don't forget the sunscreen, or you'll be sporting your goggle tan for quite a while.
